To maintain our parks both beatuifully and safely the City of Barrie has established a number of rules for the City Parks. Your co-operation in following these rules is appreciated.
- By-law 87-76 requires dog owners to clean up after their dogs within City limits.
- Dogs must be kept on leashes in all City parks with the exception of the Off the Leash Dog Recreation Area.
- Dogs are not allowed on beaches at Johnson Beach, Minet's Point or Tyndale Park. Dogs are allowed on designated walkways in Centennial, Heritage and Allandale Station Parks.
- Motorized vehicles are not permitted in parks. This includes snowmobiles, motor bikes and automobiles. Irresponsible vehicle users can do tremendous damage to parks and natural areas.
- For the safety of all park users, golfing is not permitted in City parks.
- Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in City parks.
- Barbeques are permitted in City parks, provided that they do not use propane. Only Hibachi-style barbeques that use charcoal are permitted. Barbequing is not premitted on beaches, walkways or docks.
