Museum Simcoe County Forest and MNR Forest

Mountain Bikers can have a great time exploring the large network of trails behind the Barrie Sports Complex and Simcoe County Board of Education Offices in Midhurst (just north of Barrie via Bayfield Street on the north side of Hwy 26), and the Museum Forest between Highway 26 and Carson Road. Parking is available at the Barrie Sports Complex on Nursery Road at Highway 26 or on Carson Road west of Highway 27. Museum Forest is one of the many Simcoe Forests accessible for recreational use. The forest on the north side of Highway 26 is Ministry of Natural Resources land and as such is public land open to passive use. The trails are not maintained by either the county or the ministry and users are reminded that straying from the trails can lead to degradation of the forest -- and a case of poison ivy!
