Heritage Barrie Walking Tours
TAKE AN HOUR TO ENJOY BARRIE'S RICH HISTORY
Self-Guided Walking Tours
As the centre of commerce and county government, Barrie was the location of choice for many prominent families in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Their stylish homes, businesses, and landmarks survive along Barrie's modern streetscapes, and their stories can be uncovered by taking a self-guided walking tour. Downtown Guided Walking Tours
This year Steve Travers {The Official Town Crier for the City of Barrie} will conduct three historic walking tours around the downtown area of the city, sponsored by Heritage Barrie.
Each tour takes approximately one hour, and is completely free!
Steve will meet you at Memorial Square and guide you on the tour for approximately a block, whilst telling you some most interesting stories about Barrie's Victorian past.
Various buildings will be pointed out to you, and their architectural features explained, as well as descriptions of some of the more "interesting" characters who lived in our city in bygone days.
