Wasaga Beach Area

Wasaga Beach is the world’s longest freshwater beach. It features a series of white sand beaches, all with different amenities, stretching along 14km of the Georgian Bay shoreline. Wasaga Beach is a wonderful place to spend the day with family and friends, being just 35km from Barrie.

At Wasaga Beach, there’s more than just sand and water. There’s plenty of shopping and history, too. As you drive to the beach, you can see the remains of the hull of the HMS Nancy protruding from the water where it sunk, forming an island.

Come wintertime, the dunes area of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park provides a spectacular 800 hectare backdrop to 30km of cross-country ski trails. Don’t miss the variety of birds and mammals on the groomed and track set trails. Wasaga Beach also offers an 8km skating trail and the Snowmobile Club maintains 159km of trails in the area.

Be sure to stop in at the Wasaga Beach Visitor Centre, located at 550 River Road West, for more information and upcoming local events.
