Get ready for another exciting year at Boots and Hearts!

We are headed up to Burl’s Creek for another year of theBoots and Hearts music festival! Last year we had an absolute blast all weekend long and extended our trip an extra week in the city of Barrie!

Before making our way to the campgrounds, we always stop by the City of Barrie for all of our camping needs. The City of Barrie offers a one stop shop guaranteeing you’ll find what you need for the fun weekend.

Barrie at night

Once we got to town, we started at the Canadian Tire for some camping gear. We picked up some coolers and ice packs, tents and first aid equipment all in the same spot. Getting all of the necessary items out of the way meant for more fun downtown Barrie! Especially for those items you cannot live without during Boots and Hearts like bottled water and sunscreen!

One of our friend's also forgot their suitcase with their clothing so we went to the Gerogian Mall. With a ton of stores in the same area it was the best place to hit to find her attire that suited her style.

After our shopping, we then made our way to Dunlop Street for a quick bite to eat before heading back to the road. Last year we stopped in at Kenzington Burger Bar and loved it! Check out all of our restaurants here. (P.S. the speciality take-out services fills your coolers with delicious ready-to-eat food that you can enjoy at Boots & Hearts all weekend long!).

After eating we enjoy spending time around the waterfront to take it easy before the weekend. Heritage Park has a wealth of flora, fountains, charm, and a biking and running trail for those looking to get some activity in. Walking along the lakeshore was a great way to get the gang together before the fun!

Last year while walking around the waterfront we really enjoyed stopping to canoe and kayak with Happy Paddling off of Centennial Beach. With a comfortable and safe environment for paddling, and instructors that provide private lessons, there is something for all. Even our friends who had never canoed before loved it!

Last year we had such a great time at the campground at Boots that we decided to take the week after off at KOA campground. With your camping gear already packed up, it only makes sense to extend your stay at another campground! Barrie is home to plenty of campgrounds (for pitching your tent or RVing).
