What better way to start off a girl’s weekend than at Friday Harbour? Finish off your work week and head over to the resort to get your weekend started on the right foot. Take advantage of all of their finer amenities and enjoy a fantastic meal, great views as well as some light shopping.

With three equally fantastic restaurant options at Friday Harbour, choose whether to dine at the Beach Club, the Fishbone Kitchen + Bar, or at the Avenue cibi e vini. Make sure to make a reservation for your group in advance, spots fill up quickly!

Enjoy the sunset views along the water during your meal followed by a stroll along the boardwalk, stopping into the stores to browse through their selections of the finer products, maybe even grabbing a Beavertail or some ice cream along the way for a tasty treat.

Start your Saturday morning off and head over to Dunlop Street in Downtown Barrie to enjoy the Barrie's Farmer's Market and Open Air Dunlop.

Before exploring too much, head to The Dunlop Street Diner for a delicious brunch to fuel up for the day. The Diner offers exceptionally good eats crafted by an award winning chef. Their menu sports a wide variety of breakfast and lunch dishes for everyone to enjoy. We highly recommend trying one of their exceptional 10 Eggs Benedict dishes and treating yourself to a mimosa or two.

After your brunch, enjoy Open Air Dunlop with some shopping and explore a little bit of Downtown Barrie, car free. Check out all the booths at Meridian Square with views of the water and stop by some local favourite businesses like J’adore Cheese & Chocolate, Janet Kemp Ladies Fashion, Zuzu Fashion Boutiquethe Camphill Store, Ripe Juicery, and many more.

After a full morning and even early afternoon of exploring downtown Barrie, head a little outside of the city to Heritage Estate Winery and Cidery to enjoy the first and only boutique vineyard and cidery in the heart of Simcoe County for the rest of your afternoon. The Estate offers beverages uniquely crafted out of 100% Ontario apples as well as a century farmhouse, tasting room, and state-of-the-art on-site processing facility.

Make a reservation for one of their group tours or they can add you to an already existing tour. Afterwards, finish off your experience at Heritage Estates, stay a while, kick back and enjoy one of their wines or ciders on the patio or by the cider garden.

On the last day of your girls’ weekend, start your day off slowly with a stop back in Downtown Barrie for a light breakfast at the Homestead Artisan Bakery. Pick from their delicious selection of hand-crafted baked goods and sourdoughs breads sourced from local ingredients. Enjoy them in-store or by the waterfront at Heritage Park before your next stop. While you're there, make sure to also take in the beautifully renovated space that was recently captured by the Food Network Canada for their Project Bakeover show!

Following breakfast Downtown by the water, for the rest of your day before heading home, experience relaxation in the heart of nature at the Scandinave Spa located at Blue Mountain. Situated on a 25-acre natural forest of Ontario birch, Canadian maple and pine trees, the Spa has expansive views of the UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve Niagara Escarpment.

In Spring & Summer explore their certified Forest Bathing Trail, hike or cycle before your visit on the many trails and routes or take a short drive to the impressive shores of Georgian Bay.
