The Barrie Public Library is a catalyst for imagination, a conduit to information, and a cornerstone of the community. We support the joy of reading and discovery and provide vital public space, ensuring all Barrie residents can learn, explore, and grow. With the arrival of the digital age and the natural evolution of our city, the role of the Barrie Public Library has continued to evolve.

Visit the Downtown Branch at 60 Worsley Street or Painswick Branch at 48 Dean Avenue to borrow books, magazines, DVDs and video games. Book time on our computers or bring your own device and use our free Wi-Fi.

We offer programs and clubs for kids, teens and adults, targeted programs for entrepreneurs and businesses, basic computer skills workshops, presentations for travel enthusiasts and more. Visit our website for a full calendar of programs, library hours, and information on how to get to our branches.
