The Barrie Baycats, are semi-pro baseball team and part of the Intercounty Baseball League. They play at the Coates Stadium located at the Barrie Community Sports Complex. The Barrie Baycats were league champions in 2005, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. The win in the 2019 season tied the team with the record for most consecutive league championships by one team!

Barrie has been cheering for the Colts since its inception in 1995 and they have not let the City down. The team has consistently been ranked, not only at the top of the Eastern Conference, but the league.

The Barrie Colts are proud to say that there have been 43 players who were drafted by the NHL while playing in Barrie. Most recently, Ryan Sizuki was selected 28th overall in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Barrie Lakeshores are Junior A box lacrosse team and play in the OLA Junior A Lacrosse League. Originally known as the Barrie Tornado, they began their first season in 2000 as an Ontario Jr. B lacrosse team. The Barrie Tornado's were named after the 1985 tornado that put Barrie on the map.

In 2008 the Tornado's switched leagues with the Orillia Rama Kings and are now a member of the Ontario Junior A Lacrosse League and go by the Barrie Lakeshores.
