We Stand for Sweet Summer Days at Barrie Hill Farms
Pick your own. Eat fresh. Make memories.
Just minutes from Barrie’s vibrant downtown and surrounded by rolling countryside, Barrie Hill Farms is the perfect place to reconnect with nature, savour the season, and enjoy family fun—Ontario style.
A visit to Barrie Hill Farms is more than just a day on the farm—it’s a joyful, hands-on experience that connects families to the land, to each other, and to the freshest fruits and vegetables Ontario has to offer. Locals and visitors alike return each season to make new memories and harvest the best of summer.
May–June: Asparagus Kicks Off the Season
Spring starts early here! From mid-May to June, Barrie Hill’s famous asparagus fields are ready for picking. Grab a basket, walk the rows, and taste how crisp and sweet just-picked asparagus can be—field to fork in the same day. Don’t forget to stop by the Farm Market to stock up on seasonal goods and local pantry favourites.
June–July: Berry Season Bursts to Life
Strawberries steal the show from mid-June through early July. There’s nothing like picking your own juicy berries under the summer sun. Soon after, sugar snap peas and raspberries join the harvest—perfect for snacking as you pick.
Bring the whole family—kids love filling their pails and sampling as they go. After your berry-filled adventure, visit the Silo Café for a refreshing treat like farm-made berry frozen yogurt or a locally inspired lunch.
July–August: The Blueberry & Sweet Corn Bonanza
July is big at the farm. The blueberry fields open with plump, flavourful berries that are perfect for pies, smoothies, or picnic nibbling. Around the same time, the sweet corn stalks begin to rustle with golden promise.
Mid-summer also brings more raspberries, beans, and cherry tomatoes, plus tractor rides and weekend festivals. Stop by the market for fresh-baked goods and pickled delights to take a little taste of Barrie home with you.
September–October: Harvest Season & Fall Family Fun
As the air turns crisp, the final act of summer plays out beautifully at Barrie Hill Farms. It’s time to pick apples, pumpkins, and gourds, making it one of Ontario’s favourite fall destinations. Plan a family day to fill your wagon, sip warm cider, and snap photos in the fields.
Be sure to check out the giant pumpkins, popping corn, and other harvest favourites in the Farm Market.
Barrie Hill Farms proudly celebrates Ontario’s farming heritage, sustainable food practices, and the joy of shared experiences. It’s a place to taste the region, slow down, and build family traditions that last a lifetime.
This summer, we stand for farm-fresh fun, meaningful moments, and the pride of Ontario-grown food.
