The twinkle of holiday lights, the sound of joyful carols, and the warmth of community spirit; it can only mean one thing: Barrie’s most enchanting winter tradition is back! On Saturday, November 15th, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Noella Tree Lighting Celebration and Barrie Chamber of Commerce Santa Claus Parade will fill Downtown Barrie with music, laughter, and the magic of the season.
This festive day is a cherished collaboration between Downtown Barrie BIA, the Barrie Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club of Barrie, and the City of Barrie, uniting the Noella Tree Lighting Celebration, the Festival of Trees, and the spectacular fireworks finale into one unforgettable evening of holiday joy.

Festive Fun Begins in Meridian Place
Starting at 3 p.m., Downtown Barrie will come alive with live performances, festive music, and family-friendly activities at Meridian Place. Enjoy performances by local favourites Burke Erwin, Sammy, and Francesca Panetta, followed by Choir Revolution and local singers leading the crowd in sing-alongs that capture the heart of the holidays.
Families can explore The Paint Bar and Art by Alexandra’s Festive Ornament Craft Stations, where everyone can paint and personalize their own ornament to hang on Barrie’s massive holiday tree. Local craft vendors will offer unique, handmade treasures perfect for gift-giving, while seasonal inflatables add a playful touch to the festive atmosphere.
Guests are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for the Barrie Food Bank and toy donations for the Rock 95/Kool FM Toy Drive, helping spread holiday cheer to those in need.
Barrie Santa Claus Parade, 5–6:30 p.m.
The holiday spirit truly shines as thousands gather for the 76th Annual Barrie Santa Claus Parade, proudly presented by the Barrie Chamber of Commerce. Since 1949, this cherished event has brought families together to share in the lights, music, and joy of the season.
This year’s theme, “Magic of Toyland,” will transform Barrie into a whimsical world where favourite toys come to life. Expect dazzling floats, cheerful performers, and the long-awaited arrival of Santa himself!
The parade begins at 5 p.m., departing from Lakeshore Drive north of Tiffin Street, proceeding north to Toronto Street, and then east along Dunlop Street to Poyntz Street. The best view is in Downtown Barrie, where the streets will be lined with families ready to wave, sing, and welcome Santa back to town.

Noella Tree Lighting, Fireworks & Live Music
After the parade concludes between 6:30 and 7 p.m., Santa will return to Meridian Place to light Barrie’s beautiful holiday tree, officially kicking off the festive season. As the tree sparkles to life, a brilliant fireworks display will light up the night sky over Downtown Barrie. Best viewed from Meridian Place, but visible from other waterfront parks as well.
The celebration continues on the Wildfire-Peacock Stage, where Shake Your Money Maker – The Black Crowes Tribute will take the spotlight at 6:30 p.m. This powerhouse group will bring the spirit of rock ’n’ roll alive with hits like Jealous Again and She Talks to Angels, keeping the energy high and the holiday cheer rolling well into the evening.
Festive lights in Meridian Place and Centennial Park, presented by the Rotary Club of Barrie, will also be illuminated for the winter season, adding even more sparkle to the city’s waterfront.
It’s a sight that perfectly captures the spirit of Barrie: joyful, vibrant, and full of heart.
Whether it’s the sparkle of the lights, the rhythm of the music, or the simple joy of celebrating together, the Noella Tree Lighting Celebration and Santa Claus Parade promise an unforgettable start to the holiday season.
Bundle up, bring your loved ones, and experience the magic of Downtown Barrie, where community and holiday cheer shine brightest.
