Two Weeks of Sound, Stories & Late Nights in Barrie

Barrie is turning up the volume over the next two weeks, and the city’s local bars, pubs, restaurants, and venues are ready to deliver a full menu of music, laughter, and late-night energy. From cozy acoustic sets and trivia nights to high-energy DJs and tribute shows, there is something happening almost every night, and every vibe has a place to land.

So consider this your invitation to step out, stay out a little later than planned, and let the city carry you from one unforgettable night to the next.

Where the week warms up: April 13–19

The week begins with that familiar midweek hum, where places like Cheers Bar & Grill keep things light and interactive with karaoke nights that turn strangers into backup singers and regulars into stars. Down the street, CW Coop’s keeps the creativity flowing with open mic nights and comedy sets that prove Barrie’s talent runs deep and is funny.

By Thursday, the rhythm starts to build. At Malone's Pint House, JJ Blue sets the tone with an acoustic jam that feels like the perfect pre-weekend unwind, while The Queens Hotel keeps minds sharp with trivia night before shifting into live bands and DJs as the night deepens.

Friday and Saturday bring the city's pulse to life. Downtown, Kenzington Burger Bar keeps the late-night energy alive with live music stretching into the early hours, while The Queens Nightclub transforms into a full-scale party scene with themed nights, DJs, and high-energy crowds that do not slow down until late.

For something more nostalgic and easygoing, Georgian Theatre delivers performances that transport you elsewhere entirely, with tribute shows celebrating iconic sounds and eras.

And just when you think the weekend is winding down, Sunday keeps the music going with jam nights, open mics, and live sessions that remind everyone that Barrie does not really do quiet weekends.

Then we do it all again: April 20–26

Just when you have caught your breath, the next wave rolls in.

Malones Pint House leans into its signature rhythm with acoustic jams, groove-filled Fridays, and Sunday sessions that feel like a community gathering set to music. Across town, The Queens Hotel keeps its double identity strong with relaxed early evenings that evolve into DJ-fuelled nights built for dancing.

At CW Coop’s, things get even more eclectic with drag nights, comedy, karaoke, and themed shows that shift the entire energy of the room depending on the night you walk in.

For those chasing something louder, The Queens Nightclub continues its stacked lineups, while Kenzington Burger Bar once again becomes a late-night staple for live music into the early hours.

Midweek surprises keep things interesting, too. Yuk Yuks at Linx brings the laughs, Bloom Bistro adds a touch of mystique with an evening of readings and conversation, and Five Points Theatre opens the curtain on a full weekend of live performance with Kempenfelt Players’ Cabaret Nights.

Even the Barrie Legion keeps its steady rhythm going, blending afternoon jams with evening blues and live local acts that feel like a throwback in the best way.

This is Barrie at its most alive, with local talent, packed rooms, familiar faces, and new discoveries waiting just around the corner.

So make a plan, or do not. Either way, the music will find you.
