Summer in Barrie & the surrounding region comes alive with outdoor concerts, waterfront stages, and unforgettable nights of live entertainment. From free community performances in the heart of downtown Barrie to major weekend music festivals, there’s no shortage of ways to enjoy live music all season long. Whether your playlist leans towards country, indie, rock, or pop, these are must-see outdoor music events happening across Barrie and the region this summer

Troubadour Festival Summer Concert Series

Location: Meridian Place, Downtown Barrie
Dates: June 6 to September 13

Admission: Free

Returning to downtown Barrie for another season of live entertainment, the Troubadour Festival Summer Series brings top Canadian musicians to the city’s waterfront for a vibrant lineup of free outdoor concerts. Known for its energetic atmosphere and scenic downtown setting, the festival combines live music with local vendors, a licenced area, and a welcoming community vibe that makes it a summer favourite for residents and visitors alike.

For 2026, the festival is entering an exciting new chapter with Paul Sadlon Motors joining as the presenting sponsor, alongside expanded programming, an enhanced stage experience, and four full Saturdays of live music and celebration at Meridian Place.  Learn more.

Headliners: 

The Road Hammers – June 6
The Road Hammers are a Canadian country rock band known for their high-energy performances and major chart success since their debut. The band has toured widely, even sharing stages with major artists like Nickelback and Keith Urban, and has earned both CCMA Awards and a JUNO Award win. They’re known for hits such as I’m a Road Hammer, East Bound and Down, and Mud, delivering loud, crowd-pleasing live shows. 

The Watchmen – July 25
The Watchmen are a Canadian rock band that originated from Winnipeg, consisting of Daniel Greaes (vocals), Ken Tizzard (bass), Joey Serlin (guitar), and Sammy Khon (drums). They stepped into the spotlight in the 1990s as one of Canada’s standout rock acts, achieving gold and platinum status with albums such as In The Trees, McLaren Furnace Room, Silent Radar, and Slomotion. Best known for songs like Stereo and Brand New Day, the band continues to tour actively and is recognized for high-energy live shows that continue to draw large crowds across Canada, more than three decades after their debut  

Bahamas – August 15
Bahamas (Alfie Jurvanen) was born in Toronto and is a Barrie-raised singer known for his warm mix of folk, soul, and pop. His honest, easygoing sound has earned him international recognition and collaborations with artists such as The Lumineers, Feist, City and Colour, and Jack Johnson. Across six albums, he’s won five JUNO awards, including Songwriter of the Year, and built a catalogue featuring songs like Lost in the Light and All The Time, which have reached over a billion streams worldwide.

Kempenfest 2026

Location: Barries Waterfront
Dates: July 31 to August 3 

Admission: Free with select ticketed evening shows

Kempenfest is one of Ontario’s premier outdoor arts and music festivals, featuring a vibrant mix of handcrafted artisan markets, midway rides, family-friendly attractions, and a wide variety of vendors. The festival also showcases an impressive lineup of live performances on the OLG Main Stage, drawing audiences from across the province.

Set on Barrie’s scenic Kempenfelt Bay waterfront, Kempenfest turns the shoreline into a lively celebration of creativity, culture, and community. It’s a signature Civic Long weekend tradition and a highlight of the summer season for visitors of all ages. Learn more.

Friday, July 31 – Jamie Fine 
Kicks off the weekend with Ottawa’s own pop-soul powerhouse, Jaime Fine, known for her raw vocals and the multi-platinum hit Ain’t Easy, her high energy set promises a perfect blend of catchy pop hooks and emotional, soul-baring lyrics. 

Saturday, August 1 – Big Wreck 
Canadian rock icons take over the main stage. Formed in 1992, the band has spent decades building their legacy as one of the country’s definitive rock acts. Led by the gifted guitarist Ian Thornley, they are fresh off the release of their acclaimed album The Rest of The Story. Fans can expect a showcase of incredible music talent, seamlessly mixing legendary 90s radio staples with their latest rock hits. 

Sunday, August 2 – High Valley 
Get ready for the feel-good, lively sounds of High Valley. One of Canada’s biggest country acts, they bring a high-energy mix of modern country music and traditional bluegrass banjo and mandolin.

Monday, August 3 – Practically Hip
Closing out the long weekend is Practically Hip, Canada's premier Tragically Hip tribute band. Expect a huge crowd to sing along as they bring music and the legendary spirit of Gord Downie to the festival stage. 

 

Boots and Hearts Music Festival

Location: Burl’s Creek Event Grounds, Oro-Medonte
Dates: August 7 to 9 

Tickets: General Admission, VIP, and camping passes available 

The most anticipated weekend of the summer is back as Boots and Hearts returns to Burl’s Creek with a massive lineup. Featuring world-class headliners, Canada’s premier camping and country music festival is ready to deliver another unforgettable experience. Jonas Brothers – Making a massive crossover appearance, the global superstars bring their signature pop-rock energy and a catalogue of hits to the Burl's Creek stage.

The Chicks - The legendary trio and multi-Grammy winners make their highly anticipated festival debut, delivering decades of iconic country-folk anthems.

Rascal Flatts - One of the most successful country groups of all time, they headline the final night with a career-spanning set of soulful harmonies and power ballads.

Russell Dickerson, Jessie Murph, and Tucker Wetmore – A powerhouse group of featured acts representing the best of modern country and breakout soul, ensuring the energy stays high all weekend long.

James Barker Band, Brett Kissel, Dasha, and Ashley Cooke round out the stacked lineup, offering a perfect mix of Canadian favourites and international rising stars for every type of music fan.

In addition to the main stage acts, Boots and Hearts offers:
