Discover the Many Flavours of South Asia at ROOTS
August 29, 2026 | Meridian Place

The following weekend, the celebration continues at Meridian Place with ROOTS 2026 – Festival of South Asia.

Presented by the South Asian Association of Simcoe County, ROOTS brings together the diverse cultures and traditions of South Asia for an evening of music, dance, food and community.

Now in its third year, the free festival has become a major cultural celebration in the region, welcoming more than 3,000 attendees. Throughout the evening, Meridian Place comes alive with classical and contemporary South Asian dance, live music, bands and DJ entertainment.

And, of course, no cultural celebration would be complete without food. Sample authentic South Asian dishes from local vendors before exploring the artisan marketplace, where you’ll find crafts, clothing, jewellery and other unique treasures.

Whether you’re there for the performances, the food, the shopping or simply the atmosphere, ROOTS is a wonderful way to experience the richness and diversity of South Asian culture.
