Workshop

Meet Your Visitor - Insights on Barrie's Visitor Using Environics Analytics

Bryan Plumstead, BP Insights

Bryan Plumstead will lead the workshop by presenting mobile data for 2019, 2020 and 2023. The data has been broken down into five areas (geofences) in Barrie and a geographic dispersion of everyone visiting each geofence. Bryan will provide an overview of total visitation by month, propose a Primary Visitor Market Area for Barrie, and take an initial look at visitor profiles among geofences.

The workshop will provide Tourism Barrie, stakeholders and Partners with:

  • A better understanding of Barrie’s visitor markets, who they are, from where, how many and when they visit;
  • An examination of the different geofences to see if visitor visitation and/or profiles differ;
  • A review of the trends observed pre-pandemic (2019) through to the present (2023) to inform expectations for future visitation and tourism marketing and development opportunities;
  • Actionable recommendations for Tourism Barrie to support visitor marketing and soft product development opportunities;
  • And more
