The South Simcoe Theatre

The South Simcoe Theatre (SST) is a not-for-profit community theatre dedicated to producing high-quality productions that entertain, inspire and bring the community together. Each season features a diverse mix of contemporary and traditional theatre, offering something for both longtime theatre lovers and those discovering the stage for the first time.

With a mission to highlight the important role of theatre and the arts in our communities, SST creates opportunities for inclusion, participation, education and entertainment in a safe and welcoming environment. Through its productions and community involvement, SST is committed to fostering a love of theatre and inspiring the next generation of theatre-goers.

SST presented its first season in 1966–67 and has called the historic Old Town Hall in Cookstown, Ontario, home since September 1983. In September 2026, SST celebrates its 60th Anniversary of bringing great community theatre to South Simcoe.
