Discovery Harbour
One of Ontario’s most scenic waterside historic sites, Discovery Harbour (1817-1856) tells the story of a 19th century naval and military outpost built to safeguard Upper Canada after the War of1812.
• explore the reconstructed historic tall ships, H.M.S. Bee and H.M.S. Tecumseth, moored on our picturesque wharf
• use an informative map to explore our reconstructed dockyard, barracks, workshops, captain’s residence and more to learn how sailors, soldiers and officers lived and worked in this remote setting

• view the hull of the original H.M.S. Tecumseth, pulled from the depths of Georgian Bay, in our indoor museum

In July and August, enjoy daily historical presentations and demonstrations, or take a deeper dive into the store of Penetanguishene’s naval and military establishments by booking a guided tour for $5 per person.
On site you’ll also find the picturesque King’s Wharf Theatre, with plays and musicals offered by Drayton Entertainment.
